Routes to Skiathos and Alonissos islands

The Question:

Hello Stavros!
We plan for summer 09 (June27-July10)is to spend 10 days on Skiathos plus 4 more days on Alonissos and then take a ferry back to the mainland. Which port do you recommend we should choose for our departure? Can we take a ferry from Skiathos to Alonissos? If we go back from Alonissos, in which port shall we land? Do you have an idea about the cost of such journey for a couple and a Renault Megane?
Thanks a lot. We love Greece!

The Answer:

Heeeeeeello!!!!
Great that you love Greece :P
Seaplane airlines have announced their first schedules until March-April time. For late June and July that you are interested in the timetable is expected to be online in a month or so. You can check then at http://www.fantasticgreece.com/ and http://www.hellenicseaways.gr/.
For your departure I recommend you the port of Volos: there is regular route Volos-Skiathos and way back and the cost changes according the ferry type you will choose. It is not expensive.
Connections between Skiathos and Alonissos are being realized with local boats, so you won't have problems. Port names are "Volos port" for Volos town in mainland, for Skiathos either "Skiathos port" or "Glossa" depending the type of the boat you will choose and "Patitiri" for Alonissos.
You will find prices and booking forms in the above mentioned sites.

Hope this was helpful for you!

Taxi Cost from Piraeus port to Agios Constantinos port

The Question:

What is the cost of a taxi or mini-bus from Piraeus to A.G. Constantinos (Port) and how long is the trip?

The Answer:

Goodmorning from Greece!

The journey from Piraeus port to the port of Agios Constantinos will take you approximately 2,5 hours and the cost for a taxi is, depending on the taxi company, around 240 euros. Keep in mind that it is better to have booked a taxi waiting for you at the port in advance, than catching one there, because it is highly likely that you will not find one going to Agios Constantinos port or that you will be charged for more!

Transportation to and from Volos

The Question:

Best way to get to port of pireaus from volos?
Best way to get from Athens international airport to Volos?

The Answer:

Thank you for the question!
So, if you are already in Volos, then you need to take the suburban bus (KTEL) which will take you to Athens. As soon as the bus arrives in Athens you will be at the Liosion Suburban Bus Station (KTEL Liosion). From there you can take a bus that goes straight to the metro (green line) and the station's name is "Kato Patisia". By using the metro and taking off at Piraeus (last station) you will have arrives right outside the port of Piraeus.
From the Athens International Airport it is better to take the metro (blue line) and change at Monastiraki to the green line and then take off at Kato Patisia station. From there you can take a bus that will take you to the Liosion Suburban Bus Station (KTEL Liosion) and from there take the suburban bus to Volos.
There are more than one bus lines that can take you from the Kato Patisia station to the Liosion Suburban Bus station. It is better check the bus itineraries first before boarding on one or just ask at the metro station!
I hope this has helped you!
