Reaching Zante from Corfu

Hello Stavros,
what is easiest way to go from Corfu(Dassia) to Zakynthos(Tsilivi).Our relatives will travel to Corfu, and my family to Zakynthos and we would like to spend one or two day together on either island.

Since there is no ferry connection between Corfu and Zante, then the only options for you are either flying to Zante or taking the bus. Of course flying from Corfu to Zante will save you a lot of time compared to taking the bus or the car, because in the second case you will have to go to Igoumenitsa first and then deive until Killini which is situated in the Peloponesse and then take a ferry to the island of Zante. Do you know if it is possible to reach any of the monasteries by car - 300 steps in the heat sounds a bit daunting!

Actually all monasteries can be reached by car, but this is up to one point. Unfortunately, the 300 steps for the specific monastery are unavoidable, since the location of the building of the monastery is on either the top of these huge and steep cliffs or at their side but carved into the cliff. An extraordinary sight!
