KTEL from Halkidiki to Nea Potidaia

The Question:

Dear Stavros
What KTEL bus number travels from KTEL halkidiki bus station to Nea Potidaia, and how often does it run ?
Thankyou

The Answer:

Hello my friend,

In order to reach Nea Potidaia from Halkidiki KTEL bus station you should take the bus every 05:45, 06:45, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:15, 16:00, 18:00 and 20:00. Please note that the ones at 05:45 and 09:00 are being realized only weekdays (not weekends).
KTEL busses actually have no numbers. They are being named by the destination heading to. So, this very one will be called Kallithea-Athytos-Nea Fokaia-Potidaia. For further information you can call the KTEL station (0030 23740 22214).

Always glad to help!

Igoumenitsa to Halkidiki-Kassandra

The Question:

Stavros please help?Am coming to greece on Honeymoon via Venice... am planning to take my new bride to The Sani Beach Resort Near Thessaloniki. so my question is this.. we care thinking getting a ferry from Venice to IGOUMENITSA? and then overland to the hotel??Is this the best option or can we do a better option? Ideally ferry all the way..? Hiring a car is not wat we want to do,and i would be one way?thank u please A

The Answer:

Hello!
Unfortunatelly there is not a ferry connection Igoumenitsa-Thessaloniki.
If you don't prefer rending a car the only solution I can see is getting the bus.
There is a bus everyday 10.30 in the morning from Igoumenitsa heading to Thessaloniki. The trip lasts about 5 hours and then you will have to change bus (leaving on 18.00 and 20.00). This extra 1.5 hour trip with the second bus from Thessaloniki to Halkidiki-Kassandra (where The Sani Beach Resort is located) is the best part so don't worry. You will enjoy the scenic!

Hope I helped!

From Athens to Halkidiki and Skiathos by car

The Question:

Hi there,
Firstly we fly into Athens from South Africa and would like to get to Halkidiki. Is it cheaper to hire a car and if so, how long to drive? 4 of us. Otherwise what is the bus like?Secondly after Halkidiki we would like to go to Skiathos, which port is closestto travel on the Dolphin, if possible and what is the price?
Thanks so much!
Julie

The Answer:

Renting a car in Greece is not that expensive depending on the length of your stay and the persons travelling with it. Since you are 4 people and plan to travel a lot around as I can realise, then I would recommend you to rent a car. Buses and trains will take you a lot of time...
The drive from Athens to Chalkidiki is approximately 6 hours depending on the exact place in Chalkidiki you are aiming at. From there, travelling to Skiathos is possible from either Thessaloniki port of from the port of Volos. From the Thessaloniki port the ferry company that has scheduled ferry itineraries to Skiathos is GA ferries but there is no daily connection to the island. From the port of Volos (which is a 2 hour drive) there are dolphins departing to the island of Skiathos which do not though accept cars. There are conventional ferries of course which will allow you to take the car with you. The tickets from Thessaloniki cost 20euros whereas the tickets with a dolphin from Volos cost 33 euros. You can check prices, availability and schedules at www.fantasticgreece.com!
Hope this is useful!
