What is the cost of an adult return ticket from Thessaloniki airport to Volos and would we have to book in advance or buy the tickets on the day.

Hello there,
I assume you mean KTEL bus ticket. Well, the price Thessaloniki-Volos-Thessaloniki is 29,50 E and there are routes from Thessaloniki on 09.00 - 11.00 - 13.00 - 15.15 - 17.00 - 19.15 - 21.15 - 23.00. You don't have to book in advance your ticket, just call 0030 2310 595408 to check availability and plan to arrive there at least 30 minues before the departure to get a ticket.
From the airport of Thessaloniki to the KTEL bus station the taxi will cost you about 40 E or you can get the public transportation.

could you tell me what times (as early as possible) the local bus goes from Kissos to Volos in June please? and then also the KTEL bus times from Volos to Thessaloniki? I have a flight that leaves Thessaloniki at 14.40 on a Wednesday in June & am trying to work out if I can make it from Kissos to the airport on the same day.

Hello there,
well the earliest route Athens-Volos is at 6.30 am and departs from Liossion station. You will be in Volos at around 10.30 and the next coach for Thessaloniki leaves at 12.15...so I don't think you should risk it. You won't be at Thessaloniki before 14.30.

Busses towards Volos depart from Liossion bus station not Kifissos.

I am flying to Thessaloniki end of August with 3 friends to a summer house of family in Afissos.
The thing is that we arrive around 11 at night and have difficulty getting to Afissos that night.
We are checking costs for a taxi straight to Afissos. Do you have any tips for a trustworthy driver with a good price? We now have a quote for 170 Euro's. Renting a car and dropping it off at Volos is even more expensive. Tips are very welcome!

Me and my boyfriend are planning a Greek summer vacation, but we have a really bold plan:
- we land at Thessaloniki on the 27.6.2010 at 16:45 and we want to go to Skiathos through Volos. Do you think we can make it the same day or should we book the hotel in Skiathos starting the 29.06? We plan to spend half of our vacation here.
- from Skiathos we want to spend the other half of the vacation in Zakynthos or Rhodes. Which do you suggest and what is the fastest/easiest way to get there?
