The New Acropolis Museum

The Question:

Hi Stavros!
Have the 4 original Caryatids been moved to the new Acropolis Museum yet?If so, will the new museum be opened on Oct. 25?How long does it take to get from the Acropolis to the new museum? Is it best to visit the new museum on the way from the Temple of Olympian Zeus to the Acropolis, or on the way from Filopappou hill to the Agoras?
Thanks again,
Marlene

The Answer:

Hello Marlene!
The 4 Caryatids along with the 5th which is a copy will be hosted by the New Acropolis Museum. As far as the opening of the new museum is concerned, according to the official announcement of the Museum, it is going to open some time in the end of 2008 to beggining of 2009. The date has not been specified yet. The ground floor of the New Acropolis Museum is already open for the crowd daily from 10.00 to 12.00, but you can just admire the architecture of the building and the findings in the ground of the museum territory that are protected by glass.
The New Museum is just 5 minutes away from the entrance of the Acropolis and it is on your way from the Temple of Zeus to the Acropolis Hill, on the Dionysiou Aeropagitou pedestrian street.
