Tips for spending a day in Thessaloniki before travelling by ferry

I am arriving in Thessaloniki from London at 3.50am. on my way to Skopelos. Can I book a berth on the ferry when I get there? Can I leave my luggage at the ferry office?What would be a good way to spend my day in Thessaloniki? I am an active grandmother, so what should I not miss out on seeing?

Berths for the ferries can be booked at the time of your arrival or even inside the ferry as long as there are available ones. Most of the times ferry offices do not accept luggage to be left unattended but you will be able to find lockers at the port of Thessaloniki to leave your stuff.
